Eighteen Missing Years

If I handed you the biography of the most famous person in history... and I had torn out eighteen consecutive years, wouldn't your first question be:

"What was on those pages?"

That's exactly what history hands us. The biography of the most influential person who ever lived... with nearly one-third of his life missing. Not hidden. Not encrypted. Not locked away. Simply missing.

The Bible follows Jesus from a manger in Bethlehem to a twelve-year-old talking to scholars in the Temple. And then it stops. Abruptly. Nada. Nothing. For eighteen years, he’s… poof… gone.

Then, all of a sudden, he's thirty years old, walking toward the Jordan River with absolutely no explanation. It’s not like he wrote a diary, and no one else did either. There’s just silence. Think about that.

If someone removed eighteen years from the life of Abraham Lincoln... Albert Einstein... or Martin Luther King Jr., historians would spend centuries trying to reconstruct them. So where on earth was he? Nazareth? Egypt? Persia? India? The Himalayas? All of them?

After all, he wasn't simply a man carving stools and tables in a village workshop. The Greek word used to describe his occupation is tekton - a builder, craftsman, stonemason, perhaps even an architectural artisan. And if his abilities matched the extraordinary life he would later live, it's not hard to imagine that people talked about the quality of his work long before they talked about his teaching.

While those eighteen years remain completely silent, the roads do not.

Ancient caravan routes stretched east from Judea through Damascus, across Persia, into India and beyond. Merchants. Scholars. Monks. Philosophers. They traveled those roads every year. Why not him?

Why couldn't a gifted young Jewish craftsman, known for his intelligence, curiosity, and remarkable skill, have traveled with those caravans, building, learning, trading, listening?

History doesn't tell us he did. The Bible doesn’t say he didn't.

That unanswered question became the spark behind one of the most important characters in Seeds of Eden. His name is Easa.

His journey begins where history falls silent.
